Fitness Friday

I had decided I as going to pick one day a week to keep my readers up to date and to keep my accountable to my goals for this year. Since the Wii Fit Mommies have a Fitness Friday Meme, I figured Friday's as good a day as any to post. :)

So today is the start. I told you last week that I was working hard to convince myself that I crave water. It's not quite working, but I did go 4 1/2 days drinking 5 or more bottles of water. I decided that New Year's Eve would be a splurge, and I asked John to pick up ONE bottle of Pepsi for me. Wanting to be nice he picked up two. :) I drank quite a bit of Pepsi (not to mention the wine/champagne!) on New Year's Eve and then on New Year's Day. But I'm back to drinking water. (I've had one bottle so far today.) I'm working on my goal of getting used to this one big change before I try to add to many more. (So I have had more chocolate than I need!)

My Wii Fit is not getting as much use as I'd like. It's really hard getting up early in the morning if I didn't get to sleep before midnight. And every time I turn on the Wii, the kids come running! They want to watch (which I don't mind), but they have trouble staying still. Last time I tried, Crunchy walked behind just as I was doing a leg stretched. I almost kicked her. I didn't want to hurt her (or me---if I fell off the balance board!) so I just turned it off. I've got to find a way to make it work with my life.

My starting weight was 272. The highest it's been in a very long time. :( This is really troubling after getting down to about 240 last year. This time I want to make it stick. This morning I weighed in at 269. It's a start. Until next Friday.....

One way to easily cut out useless calories is to lay off the pop--drink water instead. I am always interested to hear about experiences of others who have wiis. It sounds like a fun way to exercise!

I'm going to have to start drinking more water myself...I usually drink water with my meals (helps to deter me from drinking my favorite, Vanilla Coke! LOL!) but I don't come close to the 'recommended amount' of water intake daily. I'm going to start keeping a water bottle next to my computer (and next to my morning coffee) so it will 'remind' me to drink it... ;)

As for the WiiFit - I know what you mean...luckily I only have one child, so her interrupting me isn't as disconcerting as getting interrupted by several. But I'm looking forward to her going back to school next week - that'll be my Mommy Wii time! ;) She's only gone 3 hours (afternoon Kindergarten) so it's the perfect time for me to sneak in my WiiFit activities...although that short 3 hours ends up being monopolized getting other stuff done that I can't get done when she's underfoot...but I've joined WiiFit Mommies, so I'm going to make it a priority when she's at school - the other stuff will just have to get done at alternative times! LOL!!

I look forward to reading your progression...you're off to a great start!

It is so hard to give up soda...when I gave it up several years ago I noticed immediately that I felt so much better around my middle! (So why, might you ask am I back to drinking it now? I don't know.)

It IS hard to find time to do it...I don't want to get up early since the baby still doesn't sleep through the night...*sigh*

You should post in the forum and see how others fit it into their schedules?

If nothing else...10 minutes a day! Just, 10, minutes. :)

Thanks for linking up...I can't wait to watch your progress!

That's what we're all here for-to support and encourage each other. Our thought behind Fitness Friday is to remind everyone to update us weekly and with enough love and ecouragment from our new friends, we'll achieve out goals!

Hope you figure out a good way to balance the kids and the Wii Fit! I know a couple of times I've been interrupted by my eight-month-old daughter crawling underneath me (I was trying to do push-ups/side planks). It was a good excuse to stop, those were hard! lol Anyway, she's very cute and all, this being her first week of really crawling, but now I put her in her walker while I'm on the Fit. She thinks I'm doing it just to entertain her. lol

My post is up!

Drinking water is not easy, but I try to drink a ton. My husband hates water, I love it; don't really know why.

We were playing with our wii and I wacked my 2 year old in the head. OMG, I felt so bad.

Good luck! I am loving our Wii Fit. My best time to work out is after the kids are tucked in. It's a nice way to start my "free" time in the evenings.
