He would have been happier if I'd spanked---or yelled!

I haven't had Chewie "meet me in the bathroom" for about a week---I was out of town for several days. Today he was whiny and grumpy. (Partly Mom's fault, he hadn't taken his ADD medicine). After several episodes of whining/disrespct, I sent him to wait for me. He wouldn't calm down for me. I told him I'd come back when he was calm. It just made him more upset. Eventually, I was able to get through to him---I think. I was calm. i didn't yell. I didn't threaten him. I just waited to talk to him.
