SafetyTat Review and Giveway

Have you ever lost your child---even for a minute---in a public place? It can be a scary event. Fortunately, most of the time when kids get separated, they are quickly found. But those minutes can seem like hours. One mom, came up with a solution: SafetyTats. Here is her story:

The idea for SafetyTat temporary child ID tattoos was born of necessity one weekend at an amusement park. On Labor Day Weekend, Baltimore Mom, Michele Welsh and her husband, there with their three small children, felt out-numbered. To stave her panic, she quickly wrote her mobile phone number on each of their arms with a ballpoint pen. As she did this, she thoughtfully explained to each of them the importance of staying close to Mommy and Daddy. She also told them that if they were separated that the number on their arm was a way to reconnect with them.

Throughout the day of fun, Michele had to rewrite the number several times as it smeared or washed off. Several parents in the park stopped her to ask if that was her number on the kids' arms. Each time, they loved the idea.

The day was a success and the idea for SafetyTat temporary child id tattoos was born.

SafetyTat sent me a 4-pack of Quick Stick Write-Ons. It included 4 tattoos (that were almost as as easy to put on a band-aid!); 4 alcohol wipes (to clean the area); and a small permanent marker.

Munchy and Crunchy were happy to assist me!

I cleaned the area (upper shoulder is where we chose to apply the SafetyTat) with the included alcohol wipe. (Crunchy said, "It smells like I am going to get a shot!" I assured it was just to clean the skin!)

Next I peeled the back off and pressed the Tat to the skin and held firmly. After 20 seconds, I remove the second backing (that is split like a band-aid). Then I wrote my mobile number on Munchie's and "Seizure meds" on Crunchy's. (I took the picture before I wrote my complete number.)

Excellent Idea!!! LOVE this! I use a sling to keep my almost 1 year old close and normally my 2 year old has to wear a harness & leash.

I have also started teaching my 2 year old my name. She can tell people her name but hopefully we'll never need the skill of that - i just don't ever take my eyes off of her. these would be great because she does get away sometimes and it scares me TO DEATH!

one tip is Bring a Family Photo. because you'll need it to help describe your family member should he go missing.

As young as two I have taught both of my kids my full name and my husbands full name. If they get lost they can tell someone their mommy and daddy's first and last name.
